LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A lingering frontal boundary continues to influence the region today, leading to a soggy start to the day for many areas. Scattered showers will persist throughout the day. Today's OutlookSkies will remain mostly cloudy, with temperatures holding steady in the mid-to-upper 60s. Winds will be moderate, blowing at 10-15 mph with occasional gusts. Showers will be most active during the morning and early afternoon. Tonight-FridayThe frontal boundary will slowly dissipate, allowing skies to clear and showers to taper off. Temperatures will dip into the mid-40s under partly cloudy skies. We'll dry out for roughly 36 hours between tonight and Friday. Friday looks like a pretty nice day. Expect a tranquil day with a mix of sun & clouds. Late in the day the rain will return from the southwest. That system will keep the rest of the weekend wet. Highs will reach the mid-60s. A new wave of moisture arrives, bringing widespread showers to the region. Rainfall totals could reach an additional 2 inches in some areas. Next Week's OutlookShowers will persist through the early morning hours before gradually clearing. Skies will become partly sunny by the afternoon. Mid-WeekTemperatures will remain above normal, soaring into the 60s through Wednesday. Expect plenty of sunshine and mild conditions. Take care of each other!
