LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Prepare for an unusually warm and wet Halloween in Lexington, KY, and surrounding areas! Today's temperatures are soaring to around 80 degrees, leaving the average high of 63 degrees in the dust. That's a significant departure from the norm, making it feel more like summer than fall. Windy Conditions Gusty winds will accompany this warm-up, with wind gusts reaching 30-40 mph today and tomorrow. Hold onto those costumes and decorations! Trick-or-Treat Forecast Areas around Lexington have a higher rain chance for 6-8pm. That Includes Georgetown, Cynthiana, Nicholasville, Harrodsburg, Versailles, Frankfort, Richmond, Lawrenceburg and communities surrounding those have the best rain chances for Trick-or-Treat. You get into southeastern Kentucky and your only issue will be gusty winds. Cold Front and Temperature Swing A cold front will sweep through, bringing a quick temperature drop for Friday. But don't worry; the recovery will be just as swift! Temperatures will bounce back from the 60s to 70+ degrees between Friday and Sunday. Election Day Forecast Voters can breathe a sigh of relief – Election Day is expected to be mainly dry during voting hours. However, another system will increase rain chances in the late evening hours, accompanied by dipping temperatures. Take care of each other!
