Jude Law has admitted he finds it "really hard" going back to the U.K. and renting somewhere to live.

The Fantastic Beasts actor, 51, was born and raised in England, growing up in London. However, he has spent much of the last two years traveling with his wife Phillipa and their two young children while their house is being renovated.

So when he last visited the U.K. he had to rent somewhere to live and confessed that he found it "really disconcerting" not to have a home there.

Father of seven Law told the SmartLess podcast: "Over the last two years, I have got a house that's being renovated and I am having one of those nightmares and it's just going on and on and on so me and my wife and the two little ones, I've just been like, 'OK, well let's just travel the world, let's just go wherever I am working.'

"We've been in California, then we were in Canada, and then France, and then Australia, and then New York."

Asked if he missed having a home base, the actor replied: "I thought I would more, but I really haven't. We have found some really beautiful homes around, and some not so great, but mostly really good experiences.

"I tell you what I have found hard, I have found it really hard going back to the U.K. because without my house, I had this lovely home there, I've always lived there, but going there as a visitor and sort of renting somewhere, it just doesn't feel right. It feels really disconcerting. I was just there for a couple of weeks to see my family, my parents, and I don't know."

The actor said he had also discovered that he is fond of "being a foreigner in a city." explaining: "It feels slightly less emotionally tiring, I don't know why."

"I read the news about the U.K. and I am like, 'Oh not again, what are they doing?'... it's like your uncle letting you down," said the star. He joked: "Whereas here I am like, well it's not my problem."

With all the traveling, Law also talked about how he sticks to a good schedule, saying he likes to work out and eat well. "Allow a lot of time when I land somewhere to get over jet lag," he added. "I am not one of those people who can just pick straight up, I am like, give me a couple of days."

Law has been married to Phillipa since 2019 and the pair have not shared the names of their two children. The actor is also dad to Rafferty , 28, Iris, 24, and Rudy, 22, with his ex-wife Sadie Frost and has a daughter Sophia, 15, with his ex-Samantha Burke. Law also shares daughter Ada, nine, with former flame Catherine Harding.

Newsweek has emailed representatives for Law for comment.
