'Just In Shock': Barnegat Woman Hits $1M Lottery Win Stacey Fiore, a weekly Powerball and Mega Millions player, couldn't believe her eyes when she checked the numbers and saw she had won.

BARNEGAT, NJ — Stacey Fiore's weekly lottery ticket purchases finally paid off in a big way. The Barnegat resident won $1 million after a lifetime of playing the Powerball and MegaMillions, according to a New Jersey Lottery news release.

Her day finally came this past Saturday, when she dropped into Quick Stop on Bay Avenue to grab quick picks for her games.

Stacey, who works as a supervisor for the New York City's MTA on Staten Island where her husband of 32 years, Greg Fiore, also works as a bus operator, told her colleagues they wouldn't see her at work if she won on Saturday.

"I usually check my tickets before I go to work, but I forgot," she said recently while collecting her prize with Greg, according to NJ Lottery. Stacey said she doesn't let her husband check the numbers because "I don't trust him."

But she relied on him this time because when she saw the results, she couldn't believe her own eyes.

"I checked the numbers on Monday on the (Lottery's phone app)," Stacey said. "It said 'Congratulations. You won a million dollars.'" She didn't believe what she was seeing, so "I checked again and it said again that I won."

Still unable to believe it, she called Greg at home. He confirmed it: she won.

"I was just in shock. You wait your whole life for this, and you are still in shock," Stacey said.

While New Jersey Lottery winners have the right to remain anonymous, Stacey said she doesn't care who knows.

"I like telling people," Stacey said. "I went to the bank and asked to speak to the manager. I said 'You know somebody won $1 million here in town? Well, that's me!' She was super excited. It's nice to celebrate."

She and Greg have no big plans for the money, other than maybe a nice vacation. But the couple said their kids know that Christmas is coming up.

And despite joking that her coworkers wouldn't see her again if she won, Stacey was back on the job soon after.

The winning numbers for Saturday's drawing were 11, 24, 50, 56, and 66. Her Powerball didn't match - the winning number was 16, while hers was 12. Since no one hit all of the numbers, the jackpot heading into this Saturday's drawing is $130 million.

The odds of winning $1 million from the Powerball are 11,688,054 to 1.
