Keith Urban cuts a casual figure while performing in LA - just days after Nicole Kidman's mother Janelle's funeral in Sydney

Just days after farewelling his mother-in-law Janelle in Sydney , rocker Keith Urban was back on stage in Los Angeles this week

The country music rocker, 56, and wife Nicole Kidman , 57, said their final goodbyes to Janelle at St Francis Xavier Church in Lavender Bay on Tuesday.

And just two days later, Keith was back doing what he does best, belting out tunes on stage.

The 56-year-old took to the stage in LA on Thursday for the Amazon Music Live Concert Series featuring US country rap superstar Jelly Roll.

The Somebody Like You hitmaker cut a casual figure for the gig, wearing a simple black T-shirt with what appeared to be a paint-daub graphic pattern emblazoned on the front.

The T-shirt hugged Keith's toned biceps and flaunted the generous amount of ink on his arms.

In keeping with the rocker noir vibe, Keith also wore a pair of black jeans and left his flaxen locks to add a pop of colour to the on-stage ensemble.

He strummed away on a cherry red Gibson Les Paul Jr guitar that he casually slung over his shoulder.

Despite his recent loss, Keith appeared to be in good spirits during the performance, especially when joined on stage by fellow country star Jelly Roll.

The Save Me hitmaker, 39, wore a Tennessee Titans NFL jacket and a trucker-style cap backwards.

Like his on-stage counterpart, Jelly Roll (real name Jason Bradley DeFord) opted for a dark theme in a matching shirt and pants.

He also wore a considerable amount of chunky bling around his neck and wrists.

The pair appeared to be gelling on stage with Jelly Roll placing his hand on Keith's shoulder, at one pint while the Aussie ripped out a lead on the guitar.

And at what looked to be the end of a song Keith appeared to be going in to offer Jelly Roll a congratulatory hug as he beamed broadly.

Keith was very much in doting husband mode on Tuesday when he supported wife Nicole at the funeral of her mother Janelle.

Janelle died at the age of 84 last month - just hours before Nicole was awarded the Best Actress gong for her role in Babygirl at the Venice Film Festival.

Nicole held hands with her country music star husband as she arrived at the church dressed in a long black coat and designer sunglasses.

The couple was also joined by their two daughters Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 14, as well as Nicole's sister Antonia, 54.

During one emotional moment ahead of the funeral, Sunday was seen wiping tears away from her eyes as she became overwhelmed with emotion on the difficult day.

She was supported by Faith and cousins Lucia, 26, Hamish, 23, and Sybella Hawley, 17, who are the children of Antonia and her late husband Angus Hawley.

The Kidman family were joined by close friends at the intimate service including Channel Nine star Richard Wilkins, 69, and his make-up artist girlfriend Mia Hawkswell, 47.

Australian television presenter Peter Overton, his wife Jessica Rowe and their daughters Allegra and Giselle were also in attendance.

During one sweet moment, Allegra was seen supporting Nicole's daughters Sunday and Faith as she enveloped them in a close embrace.

Last month, Nicole and Antonia shared an emotional tribute to their late mother on Instagram and posted several never-before-seen family pictures .

In the post, the Perfect Couple star thanked her millions of fans and supporters for expressing their condolences during their time of grieving.

'My sister and I along with our family want to thank you for the outpouring of love and kindness we have felt this week,' Nicole wrote in the joint statement.

'Every message we have received from those who loved and admired our Mother has meant more to us than we will ever be able to express. Thank you from our whole family for respecting our privacy as we take care of each other.'
