Kentucky weather tomorrow: Breezy winds bring temps back up to average

LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — January? Is that you?

Tuesday was a brisk one across the Commonwealth. It’s as if Mother Nature saw Thanksgiving was over, and she just decided it’s time to sprint into winter.

She does change her mind often, which we’ll see as we look at temperatures at the beginning of December.

That taste of winter sticks around overnight, though, as lows drop into the upper teens for most. Wind chills may sneak into the single digits early Wednesday as winds pick up from the south.

It will be breezy Wednesday with sustained winds of 10 to 20 mph and wind gusts cruising through at 30 mph from the southwest.

This will help push temperatures back towards average and into the upper 40s. In fact, it is the start of what will be a warmer-than-average end to November, which will spill into December.

The Next Big Thing we’re tracking is the chance for some scattered rain showers as we roll into Friday.

More much-needed rain starts overnight Thursday and continues into the majority of Friday. We’ll see showers linger into Saturday morning, too.

Rainfall totals will range from 0.1” to 0.5” for most as this system moves in. We won’t see temperatures fall off much on the other side of this wave.

Spotty rain chances linger through the weekend and into early next week.
