Kristin Cavallari says Britney Spears reached out after clone conspiracy

It's Britney, bitch, and she appears to have left Kristin Cavallari on read.

In the latest episode of her Let's Be Honest podcast, Cavallari revealed that none other than Britney Spears reached out to her after she floated a conspiracy theory about the pop star being a clone of her former self last month.

Prefacing the anecdote with the reminder that she is very much a huge Spears fan who loves the pop star "so much," the Laguna Beach alum recalled Spears' manager reaching out to her publicist to connect the two, and later receiving a "roller coaster" of a text message from Spears before she was ultimately ghosted.

"We talked about Hollywood conspiracies and my big thing was Kanye West , I think, [is] a clone," said Cavallari. "Also I said Britney is not Britney. Britney obviously caught wind of that. So my initial reaction was, I was scared. I'm not going to lie."

Cavallari soon found herself in a group chat with Spears and her manager. "Her manager puts us on a group chat and . . . called us icons, two icons coming together, blah, blah, blah," recalled Cavallari. "Then Britney sent me a text and I'm not going to read it. I would love to read it. Just take my word. It's a bit of a roller coaster."

It was clear it was Spears because the text "was like one big run on sentence," said Cavallari. "It was one of the more interesting texts I've ever received in my life. So then I'm like, 'Yeah, I'll definitely hang out with you when I come to L.A. That would be fun.'" The initial fear turned to excitement, which then emboldened Cavallari to text Spears privately outside of the group thread.

"I'm like, 'Hey, I'm hardly in L.A. anymore, but when I come in December, I'll let you know,' because she's like, 'We should hang out,' and blah, blah, blah, and then she just never f-ing responded," said Cavallari. "I'm not over here saying we should jet off to Paris together. That's you, Britney. Well now I do think you're a f-ng clone."

Added the TV personality, "Because to me, now it was all bulls-, which I thought from the jump. I was like, this does not seem genuine to me. And now you just proved my point. You're not trying to like hang out and be a buddy. You're just trying to shut me the f- up because I'm obviously on to something!"

Clone or not, Spears — who has said that she will never return to the music industry post-conservatorship — has been hard at work expanding her empire. The Grammy winner recently announced the launch of her first jewelry line , B Tiny.
