Every Thursday, Los Angeles magazine curates a list of the best music and culture events, happening during the day and night, around Los Angeles. Escape the post-election stress and craft a great last-minute schedule this weekend with our Weekend Guide to L.A. (Click the hyperlinked event names for more info.)

New Original Works (NOW) Festival at REDCAT - starting Nov. 7 Dance performance is highlighted at this year's New Original Works (NOW) Festival beginning Thursday and running all weekend and subsequent weekends in November. One of the most significant venues dedicated to the long-term development of performance artist practice and new work, REDCAT intends this event to show their commitment to the L.A. dance community. This week, catch Bernard Brown's "Sissies: Something Perfect Between Ourselves, celebrating "the gay bar as a Black queer haven" and named after Black queer disco legend Sylvester.

Mariah Carey's Christmas Time at Hollywood Bowl - Nov. 8 Serving all we want for Christmas a little early, the pop diva rings in the holiday season under the stars at this festive show at the Hollywood Bowl featuring her seasonal hits and more. DJ Suss One spins prior.

ICE at Santa Monica - opening Nov. 8 The holidays are here, and this Disney+ presented rink, which is opening this Friday in the heart of Santa Monica, offers the unique opportunity to bundle up and skate amidst ocean breezes and sunshine.

Inglewood Artwalk - Nov. 8-10 Artistic expression will get us through these tough times. Support your local creative communities at events like the Inglewood Open Studios Artwalk, which has been showcasing work from local artists since 2006 with self-guided tours of studios, galleries and more. Workshops, talks, and performances take place all weekend and are centered at Hyde Park Plaza.

Mac Sabbath at the Regent - Nov. 9 Join Grimalice, the Catburglar, Slayer McCheeze, and Ron Osbourne, aka Mac Sabbath, as they serve up a super-sized stoner metal hometown show marking their 10-year anniversary as a band. It feels oddly fortuitous that the fast food-inspired Black Sabbath tribute band would play a big post-election gig, what with the president-elect's Mickey D obsession. But make no mistake, the band is not a celebration of bad food, but a skewering of it, with health-minded lyrics that call out corporate greed and greasy grub. Even without the message, it's a sizzling spectacle.

Baby2Baby Gala - Nov. 9 Popular non-profit Baby2Baby provides crucial items to more than one million impoverished U.S. children each year. Academy Award-winning actress Charlize Theron, who founded the Africa Outreach Project, will be honored at this year's glitzy annual fundraiser, presented by Paul Mitchell.

POP MART and TikTok Shop's Super Brand Day - Nov. 9-10 Westfield Century City's new popular Pop Mart shop celebrates the social media platform's shopping initiative with special drops on collectible designer toys at the shopping locale's Terrace. Games, interactive experiences, photo booths, unboxing stations for influencers and social media creators, and a lot more, will be popping.
