Lane closures to avoid this weekend in NE Ohio

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Major lane closures and detours will affect traffic on Interstate 490 this weekend as part of an ongoing pavement replacement and bridge repair project between Interstate 90 and Interstate 77.

Here's where you'll see slowdowns:

I-490 east and west between E.55th St. and W.7th St. will be reduced to one lane 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 15, through Monday, November 18, at 5 a.m. for pavement repairs.

I-490 westbound between W.7th St. and I-71 will be closed at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 15, through Monday, November 18, at 5 a.m. for pavement repairs.

The ongoing project, which began earlier this year, is part of a larger effort to replace pavement on I-490 and make various bridge repairs to the I-490 overpass above the Cuyahoga River.

The entire project is expected to be completed by July 2027, according to ODOT.
