Light Years Fermentation opens its doors in Owego

TOWN OF OWEGO, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A brewery that prides itself on well-crafted drinks, good food, and great vibes is now open in the Town of Owego.

Lights Years Fermentation opened its doors on October 4. Located at 8784 State Route 17-C, the business is owned by several Broome County locals.

It features craft beer and cider and, in the future, will offer hard and regular kombucha.

Patrons can also enjoy foods such as Italian roast pork sandwiches, spiedies with Zuzu sauce, which is made with olive oil, and homemade pizzas, offering healthier options.

The brewery also features the owners' extensive collection of artwork with pieces referencing Star Wars, Grateful Dead, and Phish along with a memorial to their late friend.

There is both indoor and outdoor seating.

Light Years is open from 3 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, 3 to 10 on Friday, 1 to 10 on Saturday, and 1 to 6 on Sunday.
