The Taco Project, the Mexican-inspired restaurant with five locations (and more on the way), announced that it is holding a monthlong celebration of its 10th anniversary, after having successfully built a "mini-empire" of taco restaurants in Westchester and Fairfield counties.

The eight-time "Best of Westchester" winner says, "with a commitment to using only the freshest ingredients, all Taco Project restaurants offer a wide array of mouth-watering tacos, burritos, bowls, salads, churros, margaritas, and other Mexican-inspired favorites. The Taco Project has options for everyone, including vegan and vegetarian selections, all served in a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere."

The first location opened in in Tarrytown, in October 2014, followed by Yonkers in 2017, Bronxville in 2019, Pleasantville in 2021, and Stamford in 2022. Soon, The Taco Project will also be opening a location in New Rochelle.

The company says the locations are perfect for a quick, tasty lunch or dinner or for catering private parties or corporate events. In addition, a new food truck is now delivering delicious tacos and other tasty treats on the go.

Taco Project founders Nick Mesce, Sebastian Aliberti, and Carmelo Milio are all Westchester natives who have known each other since high school. Mesce has years of experience in the restaurant industry, while Aliberti and Milio have expertise in the business world. From their longstanding friendship, combination of skills, and love of good food, The Taco Project was born.

Mesce says that the most popular items on the menu at The Taco Project are steak tacos, birria (slow-cooked beef brisket) tacos, burritos and bowls. His personal favorite is the battered fish tacos.

"We put an emphasis on bringing in fresh ingredients, while still offering competitive pricing. We also focus on providing outstanding service. We want people to really enjoy themselves at The Taco Project. From the music to the ambience, to having a great team in place — it's all part of the experience when you eat at The Taco Project," Mesce said. "And now, with our new food truck, we can bring The Taco Project to you!"

The Taco Project has specials and events throughout the month of October, including a chance to win free tacos for an entire year on Oct. 19.

The first person in line at a Taco Project on October 19 will win a free taco bar party with ten friends (a $250 value). The first 50 people in line at each location will receive one free order of tacos and a drink, and a chance to win 10 prizes, including the grand prize of free tacos for a year (one order of free tacos weekly).

"This is our way of saying thanks to all the taco fans who have supported us over the past ten years," Aliberti said. "And if you haven't tried The Taco Project yet, now's a great opportunity to stop by, sample some tacos, and possibly win some prizes."

Prizes include tickets to New York Knicks and New York Islanders games and Knicks/Islanders merchandise. Plus, there will be gift card giveaways from local favorites like Sebastian's Barbershop, Playa Bowls, Crumbl Cookies, Sephora, and Starbucks.

"Nothing brings people together like tacos," Milio said. "Whoever wins the grand prize of free tacos for a year will have plenty of options, since we have chicken, steak, brisket, pork, fish, shrimp, chorizo, and vegetable tacos!"
