Lights in the Sky returns to Boyne’s SkyBridge with bigger, dazzling winter display

BOYNE FALLS, MI - Last year's wintertime Lights in the Sky display that set Boyne Mountain's SkyBridge twinkling in color against the nighttime sky was so popular, the resort is back with a bigger and more eye-catching version for this season. Lights in the Sky has returned to this Northern Michigan four-season resort, with the world's largest timber-towered suspension bridge all decked out to celebrate the holidays - and beyond. This festive light installation can be enjoyed day or night. This year, more than 150,000 lights will glow across the huge bridge that flexes and sways lightly between two peaks atop Boyne Mountain. You can find SkyBridge hours and pricing online here. Those who walk the 1,200-foot-long corridor will be surrounded by the colored lights. It makes for a unique holiday adventure - and it's a pretty cool photo op, too. Lights in the Sky is going on now through April 30. "Returning for its second year, the Lights in the Sky display promises to be bigger, brighter, and more dazzling," said Erin Ernst, director of communications for Boyne Resorts' Michigan operations. "Illuminating SkyBridge Michigan with a stunning array of lights, this immersive experience captivates visitors and bridge walkers of all ages and serves as the perfect way to enjoy the holidays and beyond." The huge bridge is reached by a chairlift that runs to the top of the mountain. When walkers cross SkyBridge, they're 118 feet in the air, overlooking Boyne Valley and the skiers below, once the runs open. The pedestrian attraction was built between the peaks of McLouth and Disciples Ridge. Once walkers cross the bridge, they find themselves in a large gathering space that features an outdoor fire, a food truck servings Polish food, hot drinks and adult beverages, and plenty of places to stretch out and relax. (Boyne Mountain is cashless, so bring a card with you if you want snacks). You can purchase tickets online on the resort's website here . If you're staying at the resort, you can save $5 per ticket. Each ticket includes the chairlift ride as well as unlimited day and evening SkyBridge crossings. The bigger Lights in the Sky display is one of several new additions to the Boyne Mountain winter lineup. We'll have more details soon, but we know the list includes more snowmaking power on the Victor slope and over at the Tubing Hill, a new 18 acres of glade terrain for skiing, and some cool cabanas with perks inside the Avalanche Bay waterpark.
