Local teacher gets ‘big surprise’ from Dayton police

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A local gym teacher got a special surprise on Thursday afternoon.
Sharon Beauchamp teaches physical education at Belle Haven Elementary School. She is currently receiving treatment for breast cancer.
A DPD officer learned of Mrs. Beauchamp's story after a visit to the school last week.
Mobile mammography unit offering exams in Centerville today
So, yesterday, during a school fire drill, Officer Dyan Thomas arrived to the school with something extravagant for the educator, surprising her with a Pink Ribbon department cruiser.
As the fire drill ended, students gave Mrs. Beauchamp some kind, uplifting words as she's almost finished with treatment.
