LSU QB commit, Michigan flip target Bryce Underwood dominates in blowout playoff win

Belleville High School (Mich.) quarterback Bryce Underwood continues to prove why he is the nation's No. 1 overall recruit.

Despite having a limited number of snaps this season due to his team's dominance against their opponents, Underwood has put up some eye-popping numbers.

Coming into this weekend's playoff opener, Underwood had completed 80 of 110 attempts (72.7%), while throwing for 1,306 yards, 19 touchdowns and just one interception. He has been equally impressive on the ground, adding more than 450 rushing yards and seven scores.

Belleville's 68-0 drubbing of Pioneer High on Friday night might've been one of his best performances to date, though. The Five-Star Plus+ passer completed 13 of his 15 attempts, throwing for 243 yards and six touchdowns before sitting the second half after Belleville went up 55-0.

Michigan pushing hard to flip Underwood from LSU

Underwood, the consensus top recruit nationally in the 2025 class, has been committed to LSU since January. At the time, he chose the Tigers over Michigan and dozens of other programs.

He has remained steadfast in that pledge, visiting only Baton Rouge multiple times since his commitment. But the Wolverines have made a serious push of late to keep Underwood home.

According to On3's Pete Nakos, Michigan donors are all-in on helping head coach Sherrone Moore land Underwood.

"Industry sources told On3 that Underwood is expected to land an NIL package valued above $5 million over three to four years, regardless of the program that lands his signature on National Signing Day," Nakos wrote earlier this week .

Multiple sources also told Nakos that the Wolverines reconnected with the family in the last three weeks and have offered a competitive NIL package on par with what LSU has presented. The Underwoods have stated previously that while NIL will be a factor in where Bryce plays his college football, it won't be the only one.

Underwood is set to return to LSU this weekend for his official visit as the Tigers host Alabama.
