(WHDH) - An East Bridgewater man is facing charges after police said he intentionally hit another car and tried to hit multiple people on foot during a road rage incident early Sunday afternoon.

The incident happened at 12:05 p.m. in the area of 55 Washington Street.

Police said 61-year-old Alan Eugene Stec passed a pickup truck near his house and then jammed on the brakes before pulling into his driveway. Prosecutors said Stec backed his sedan into the pickup, with a male driver, an adult female passenger, and the driver's 9-year-old daughter inside.

The pickup truck driver pulled over to get Stec's tag number so he could report him, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors allege that Stec then bit the pickup truck driver's arm when he reached into the vehicle. The pickup truck driver said Stec tried to run him and his passengers over while they were standing in the yard, prosecutors said.

"I heard people yelling in distress, and what caught my ear was what sounded like young children really screaming in distress," a witness said.

Police said Stec eventually got out of the car near a wooded area behind the house and tried to flee on foot. Officers used a stun gun as they took him into custody. Police said Stec spit on officers during his arrest.

Stec was initially taken to a hospital for evaluation. He appeared in court for his arraignment on Monday wearing what police described as a rainbow-colored sequin dress.

He told the judge he did not hit anyone and that he was hoping to go to a job interview Tuesday.

Stec has been charged with a litany of offenses, including two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a child under 14, assault with a dangerous weapon, malicious destruction of property under $1,200, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, failure to stop for police, three counts of assault and battery on a police officer, and three counts of assault and battery.

Stec was also cited for a marked lanes violation and failure to stop or yield.

He is due back in court Wednesday for a dangerousness hearing and a mental health evaluation.
