Man arrested after stabbing near City Hall: NYPD

MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) — A man accused of randomly stabbing a 19-year-old in the neck near City Hall was arrested, police said Thursday.

Marvin Dupree, 41, is accused of stabbing the teenager near Centre Street and Chambers Street around 11:36 a.m. Wednesday, police said. He was arrested later Wednesday and charged with attempted murder, police said.

The 19-year-old had been waiting in line for court when the stabbing happened, sources told PIX11 News. He was taken to an area hospital, according to the FDNY.

Video from the scene shows police blocking off a large area in front of the New York City Criminal Court Summons building Wednesday afternoon.
