Man charged with shooting five people during party in Laurel

LAUREL, Miss. ( WHLT ) – Laurel police arrested a 34-year-old man after he allegedly shot five people during a party.

Laurel Police Chief Tommy Cox said the shooting occurred at the Cameron Center on N. 10th Avenue shortly after midnight on Sunday, November 10.

One killed during multi-vehicle crash in Hattiesburg

Officers said Daniel Gomez shot five people after he was denied entry to a party at the center. He has been charged with five counts of aggravated assault and DUI.

According to Cox, the five victims had non-life threatening injuries.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has also placed a hold on Gomez.
