Man Fatally Stabs Girlfriend Because He Hated Her Haircut: Police

A Pennsylvania man is accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend because he hated her new haircut, according to court documents obtained by PennLive.com .

Benjamin Garcia Gual, 49, of Lancaster, was charged with homicide , attempted homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment in relation to the death of Carmen Martinez-Silva, as well as the stabbing of her brother, Luis Martinez-Silva, and two other people, WHTM reports.

The victim's daughter told police that Gual was upset that her mother cut her hair and threatened to stab her over it, which forced Martinez-Silva to stay overnight at the daughter's home. Carmen eventually stopped by her Luis' home, at which point she asked another friend to tell Gual that their relationship was offer, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Gual was absent from his mobile home when the friend attempted to notify him, instead looking for Martinez-Silva at her brother's home. The brother told Gual that the she wasn't there, at which point Gual briefly left, returned minutes later and allegedly stabbed the brother.

Carmen intervened, at which point Gual allegedly attacked her in a frenzy, according to the affidavit. Two other people who attempted to stop the stabbing spree were reported to be nearly knifed during the incident, according to police.

Carmen was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers and her brother was reported to have suffered multiple stab wounds. Gual was found sitting in his car with "knife in hand" and blood on the weapon parked at the scene.

The suspect was arrested and taken to Lancaster County Prison, where he is being held without bail.
