Man hospitalized after shooting in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man is in the hospital following an early Saturday morning shooting in Grand Rapids.

Around 1:10 a.m., officers with the Grand Rapids Police Department were sent to the area of Jefferson Avenue SE and Burton Street SE for a shooting.

GRPD said that a 23-year-old man was taken to the hospital with an apparent gunshot wound. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

It's unclear what led up to the shooting.

Officers are working to confirm that the shooting happened in the area of Jefferson Avenue SE and Burton Street SE, GRPD told News 8.

The shooting remains under investigation.
