Manheim Township beaten by 7-time defending champ North Allegheny in PIAA girls volleyball playoffs

North Allegheny 3, Manheim Township 0
North Allegheny, the seven-time defending champion, defeated Manheim Township 25-18 25-14, 25-18 in the first round of the PIAA Class 4A playoffs on Tuesday at Wexford.
Emily Edelman had nine kills and Sophia Krotky Koeppe had seven digs to lead Manheim Township (17-6), the fourth-place team from District Three.
North Allegheny (18-1) will play Bishop Shanahan (21-2), which beat Dallastown 3-2 on Tuesday, in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
CLASS 1A
Linville Hill Christian 3, Northern Cambria 0
The District Three champion Warriors (20-2) defeated the District Six runner-up Colts 25-21-25-15-25-22 in earn the victory in Class 1A on Tuesday at Gap in their first appearance in the PIAA playoffs.
Linville Hill will face District Two champ Mountain View in the quarterfinals Saturday, site and time to be announced. Mountain View beat Northeast Bradford 3-2 on Tuesday.
Tri-Valley 3, Ephrata Mennonite 1
The District Three runner-up Legends (14-4) fell to the District 11 champion Bulldogs 25-6, 25-21, 17-25 and 25-21.
Ephrata Mennonite was in the state playoffs for the first time.
