Marquette man gets life sentence for murder of wife

AURORA — Jeffrey Adams of Marquette received a life sentence Thursday for the murder of his wife on Feb. 26, 2023.

Judge Christina M. Marroquin handed down the sentence in Hamilton County District Court.

Adams, 49, was given credit for 599 days already served. His prison sentence began Thursday.

On June 18, a Hamilton County jury found Adams guilty of first-degree murder.

The body of Angela Adams was found face-down in the bedroom of the couple's home at 502 Carnahan St. in Marquette. The 49-year-old woman, who was wearing her pajamas, was pronounced dead at the scene.

In interviews with law enforcement, Jeffrey Adams said he hit his wife twice and she fell to the floor. He said he didn't remember much about what followed.

Jeffrey and Angela Adams, formerly Angela Carlson, were married in 2016.
