Maryland state trooper hospitalized after accident near West Virginia state line
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — Two people were taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown after a vehicle collision that involved a Maryland State Police cruiser.
The crash happened on Interstate 68 near the West Virginia/Maryland state line in Friendsville, Garrett County around 3:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, according to a press release from the McHenry Barrack of the Maryland State Police.
A trooper had finished escorting an oversized load on I-68 westbound and "attempted to travel toward the emergency crossover" when their cruiser was struck by a pickup truck, the release said.

The on-duty trooper and the driver of the pickup truck, a 47-year-old man, were both taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown for treatment.
The collision is still under investigation by the Maryland State Police. No details about the condition of the two victims were released.
