Maurice Turner might not be any closer to returning for this weekend, according to head coach Jeff Brohm .

Turner hasn't played since September 7th against Jacksonville State and has only played in two games in 2024. It's currently an undisclosed injury for the Cardinals' running back.

Louisville hosts No. 6 this weekend at 12:00 p.m. ET.

"We're going to try and get him back on the practice field this week," Brohm said. "And we'll see where it's at. I couldn't tell you at this point (if he's going to play this weekend). We'll have to see where that's at. He hasn't practiced to this date."

In two games this season, Turner has 16 carries for 87 yards and a touchdown. Since 2022, Turner has 143 carries for 685 yards, two touchdowns and 4.8 yards per carry.

As a member of the Class of 2022, Turner was a three-star recruit out of Douglas (Ga.) , according to the On3 Industry Ranking , a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 102 overall prospect in the state, the No. 143 wide receiver in the class (before switching to RB) and the No. 1,002 overall prospect in the class.

Maurice Turner might not return vs. Miami

With Turner not confirmed for this weekend's ACC tilt, Jeff Brohm will continue to operate the offense as he has the last few weeks.

On the flip side, Louisville's head coach has to worry about Miami quarterback Cam Ward.

"Well, I think if you watch him (Cam Ward) he is very poised, he understands football and he has got a great feel," Brohm said this week. "I think he throws it best when he is on the move and when he can buy time and that is when the big plays are created because he is just so natural at doing it.

"So, we have to contain him in the pocket and make him throw from the pocket. We have to guard as well as we can and pocket rush and make sure we push that towards him and not allow him to escape and buy a lot of extra time because he is very dangerous when he does that."

Miami is undefeated and coming off a bye week. Turner or not, Louisville will have its hands full to pull off the upset.
