METRO DETROIT — Widespread rain showers will affect Thanksgiving travel this week in metro Detroit, according to the National Weather Service.

High temperatures in the metro Detroit area will reach the mid 40s Monday before widespread rain showers move into the area overnight, according to the National Weather Service.

The steady rainfall will increase in coverage and get heavier throughout the day Tuesday as afternoon highs climb toward 50 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The widespread, moderate-to-heavy showers should fade away by Tuesday night, leading to a better travel day on Wednesday with highs hovering in the mid 40s under sunny skies across the metro area, according to the National Weather Service.

Thanksgiving Day will be mostly sunny with highs climbing toward the 50s across the metro area, according to the National Weather Service.
