Mexican American Veterans Association honors veterans with 10th annual banquet

WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL )—The Mexican American Veterans Association is honoring veterans with its 10th annual banquet, its biggest fundraiser of the year.

The nonprofit hosted the banquet on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Stone Palace, with around 200 people attending.

A proclamation was given from the Wichita County Commissioner's Court.

Apache veterans are revered today with the traditions of old

Former Wichita County Judge Woody Gossom received the 'Veteran of the Year' award, while Base Camp Lindsey received the 'Patriot of the Year' award.

Our very own Dylan Jimenez co-emceed the event alongside MAVA committee member Johnny Villastrigo.

The night concluded with a dance and live music from Gupo Stampede. All proceeds will go back to helping veterans in our community.
