Mobile County crash on Interstate 10 leaves 1 dead, 1 injured
MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating after a three-vehicle crash left a Louisiana man dead and another injured in Mobile County on Wednesday.

Kenneth L. Barker, 30, of Franklinton, Louisiana, was killed around 9:35 a.m. Wednesday in the crash on Interstate 10 near the 1-mile marker, according to ALEA. The location is approximately 13 miles west of Mobile in Mobile County.
The crash involved three commercial vehicles, authorities said:
A 2023 Peterbilt tractor-trailer driven by Barker
A 2016 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by a 54-year-old from Texas
A 2020 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by a 34-year-old from Chicago
Troopers said Barker's vehicle struck the 2016 Kenworth tractor-trailer. The initial collision then caused the 2016 Kenworth tractor-trailer to hit the back of the 2020 Freightliner tractor-trailer, according to reports.
Barker, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was taken to University Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The driver of the 2016 Kenworth tractor-trailer was also injured in the crash and taken to the hospital. There is no update on the driver's condition.
The driver of the 2020 Freightliner tractor-trailer was not reported to be injured in the crash.
