SOUTH JORDAN, Utah ( ABC4 ) — A mother and son were hit by a car when crossing the street in South Jordan Friday morning.

Officer Shaun Beckers with the South Jordan PD said just before 10 a.m., a car was traveling north on Mountain View Corridor when the driver tried to make a right-hand turn onto Daybreak Parkway.

The vehicle didn't come to a complete stop and ran into a mother and son who were crossing the street at the time.

Beckers said the mother was not injured. The son was taken to the Primary Children's Hospital in Lehi in "Bravo Condition" – meaning his injuries needed treatment but they did not require urgent care.

The driver reportedly stayed on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. No other details were provided.
