MSHP looking for hit-and-run driver after motorcycle crash

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Missouri State Highway Patrol is searching for a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a motorcyclist hospitalized with serious injuries.

According to MSHP, the crash happened when a driver tried to pass a Harley Davidson Electra Glide motorcycle on Eastbound U.S. 50 Highway in Johnson County.

MSHP said the driver fled the scene after side-swiping the motorcyclist, causing him to lose control of the motorcycle, flip over and get thrown from the bike.

The person driving the car that hit the motorcycle fled eastbound, MSHP said. However, troopers don't have any details on the person or the vehicle that hit the motorcycle.
