Multiple shot at New London apartment complex, officials say

NEW LONDON, Ohio (WOIO) - The Huron County Sheriff's Office confirms that New London Police are handling a shooting with multiple victims in their jurisdiction.

The Village of New London's Mayor Toby Thomas told 19 News that he is aware of a shooting at Windy Acres Apartment Complex but did not have further details this hour.

Windy Acres Apartment Complex is a is located at 96 Clifton St. New London.

It is a Community Action Commission community.

A dispatcher told 19 News that the New London Police Department is handling the investigation and could not further comment.

The New London Police Department called the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation to process the crime scene this morning, Ohio Attorney General Deputy Press Secretary Dominic Binkley confirmed.

No further information is available in this active investigation at this time, according to Binkley.

The Huron County Coroner's Office has referred all questions to the New London Police Department.

Mayor Thomas is awaiting an update from the Village's police chief.
