MUSC holding Angel Tree lighting Wednesday evening
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The season of giving starts tonight at the Medical University of South Carolina's Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital.
Community members and hospital employees are invited to attend the MUSC Angel Tree lighting on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Shawn Jenkins lobby.
As part of the tradition, anyone can adopt an angel from the tree to support for the holiday season.
The Salvation Army of Charleston identifies the angels as children of families in need. Once adopted, sponsors receive the child's angel tags, which show the child's name and wishlist.
Sponsors are encouraged to buy toys, bikes, clothes, and more to brighten the children's holiday season.
After all the gifts have been collected, MUSC will host an Angel Tree Parade of Toys on Friday, Dec. 10.
