NASCAR Paint Schemes of the Week: South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

M.Davis53 min ago

The NASCAR Playoffs are going to Las Vegas and the Round of 8 drivers are going to try to go all-in. Okay, that's the last pun, I promise. If one of the eight playoff drivers wins the South Point 400, that is a ticket straight to the Championship 4 in Phoenix.

This week, teams are breaking out their best schemes. We have some new ones and a few classics returning. When you're in Vegas, you gotta go big.

NASCAR at Las Vegas has provided great racing in the past. This kind of track is what the Next Gen car thrives on, although it is not as good as say a Kansas or Darlington. Let's get into the best looks of the weekend.

Chase Briscoe No. 14 Texas A&M University Ford

How about Stewart-Haas Racing landing a fun sponsor before they close shop? Chase Briscoe is debuting the Texas A&M University No. 14 Ford this weekend .

Later this season, Josh Berry will rep A&M at Phoenix. I'm no Aggie fan, but this is a great-looking car, straight up. The 12th man is going to love this. 8.5/10.

Cody Ware No. 15 Evel Knievel-Parts Plus/Pronto Ford

A little twist on the Rick Ware Racing Parts Plus car. Cody Ware is repping Evel Knievel on the side of his car.

This team has actually performed better than many expected. Ware has stepped into the car and made the most of his opportunities. Nice car this week, too. 8/10.

Shane van Gisbergen No. 16 Wendy's Spicy Chicken Chevy

Back again with Wendy's this is a partnership I hope continues to grow for next year. Having McDonald's and Wendy's with a big presence in the sport is great.

Shane van Gisbergen is still figuring out the ovals . Let's see if he learned anything the first time he hit this track earlier this year in the Xfinity Series. 8.5/10.

Joey Logano No. 22 Pennzoil Ford

This is one of my favorite Joey Logano schemes. A little bumblebee look for the NASCAR Las Vegas weekend. There is just something about the scheme that is classic and exciting at the same time.

Logano just got gifted a spot in the NASCAR Playoffs, and he wants more. Alex Bowman was DQ'd after the Roval and now Logano is still in the championship hunt. 9/10.

Bubba Wallace No. 23 Leidos/U.S. Air Force Toyota

A variation on the Air Force scheme for this year. This is a collaboration between the Air Force and Leidos. The No. 23 car looks great.

Bubba Wallace has a chance to win a race before the year is over, but he won't have many other chances. Vegas and Homestead are his best bets. 8.5/10.

Todd Gilliland No. 38 gener8tor Ford

Not only is the black gener8tor paint scheme back, but the gold foil number is as well. Todd Gilliland has been showing a lot of improvement and confidence lately.

Gilliland might be in his best paint scheme this weekend. Black race cars are just so much fun to look at, especially with a colorful pop on the side. 8.5/10.

Tyler Reddick No. 45 Jordan Brand Toyota

Another Jordan Brand scheme, another banger design. This is a fantastic-looking No. 45 car for Tyler Reddick.

Oh and hey, what is that on the back there? Terrible's? Like Terrible Herbst, as in Riley Herbst? Now isn't that interesting? 9/10.

Jimmie Johnson No. 84 Family Dollar-Dollar Tree Toyota

These pink cars from Legacy Motor Club are a lot of fun. Family Dollar and Dollar Tree are once again with Jimmie Johnson.

Let's hope this beautiful No. 84 car can make it to the end of the race. He has had awful luck in the last two years on track. 8/10.
