DANVILLE, CA — 2,841 customers are without power in Danville Tuesday evening at 6:20 p.m., as temperatures hover around 102 degrees. PG&E said that its preliminary determination is that the outage was caused by the weather. Danville police said in a message that a tree is down at San Ramon Valley Boulevard and Sycamore Valley Boulevard, though it is unclear if this is responsible for the outage.

The outage was first reported at 4:27 p.m., and no estimated restoration time was given. The outage affects a large swath west of Hartz Avenue, and another pocket east of 680 near Osage Park.

The town's cooling centers are mostly closed at this point, though Danville Library remains open until 8 p.m. See here for more information from the town about the excessive heat.

In nearby San Ramon, 836 customers lost power in the area west of 680 and north of Deerwood Road, and east of 680 just north of Crow Canyon Road.

See PG&E's outage center for more information.
