Ethan Geronimo's two goals and an assist fueled fourth-seeded Newark East Side to a 3-0 victory over 13th-seeded Ferris in the first round of the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 tournament at Eddie Moraes Stadium in Newark. Derek Castro added a goal for Newark East Side (12-5-1), which jumped out to a 2-0 halftime lead. Dante Orellana and Rui Rosete made two saves apiece to combine on the shutout. Newark East Side will host fifth-seeded Columbia in the quarterfinals. Joshua Osorto made 10 saves for Ferris (9-11-1).
