NHRA sets new race time for In-N-Out Burger finals after plane crash at Pomona
Following a plane crash ahead of the races today, NHRA has changed the schedule at Pomona in California. It is the season finale. The In-N-Out Burger finals at Pomona will continue 1:00 PM PST.
The crash, which happened following the flyover today, happened at 11:10 AM PST. There was extensive cleanup as the plane crashed into multiple vehicles. There were three passengers taken to the hospital as a result.

The prerace festivities were going as planned until the plane crash. It is a tragic and unfortunate turn of events. No one wants to see a plane crash when they go to the race track. Hopefully, NHRA is able to get going today and move on from the wreck as best as possible.
This weekend champions are being crowned. Austin Prock clinched the Funny Car championship last night during qualifying. There will be more races and championships later today once the delayed schedule begins.

The NHRA Finals at Pomona were set to get going early this afternoon, EST. The L.A. County Fire Department was called out at 11:10 AM to respond to a single-engine plane crash.
This is an unfortunate turn of events. No one expects this to happen when they go to watch the races.
NHRA released a statement on the Pomona situation: "We are investigating an apparent small plane crash near the dragstrip in Pomona while it was apparently attempting to land at nearby Brackett Field Airport on Sunday.
"Our thoughts are with everyone involved in the incident."
