Not So Scary Halloween Walk set for late October at Quad City Botanical Center

The Quad City Botanical Center is hosting its ninth annual Not So Scary Halloween Walk late next month.

The event, at the center at 2525 4th Ave., Rock Island, is set for Oct. 25 - Oct. 27 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. each day. There is a members only night on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Visitors can take a "Not So Scary" lighted walk through the gardens after dark, a press release said, with chances to explore the Sun Garden, graveyard pond and a magical fairy garden.

New this year will be a carnivorous plant zone.

A Halloween train will make its way through the popular train garden. Visitors can also make Halloween crafts.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, there will be a special Halloween concert from Common Chord, with a set at 6 p.m. and a set at 7 p.m.

Visitors should dress according to the weather, and kids will receive a bag for treat stops, the press release said.

Cost is the same as general admission: free for members, $9 for those aged 16 and up, $6 for kids 2 to 15 and free for toddlers under 2. There are discounts for seniors, military, college students and through the Museum for All program. Tickets can be purchased in advance, walk-ups also accepted.
