NYC Weather: Snow Showers Could Hit City On Wintry Tuesday
NEW YORK CITY — Winter is coming to New York City this week.
Snow showers could fall Tuesday, which is expected to also have 20- to 30-degree wind chills, according to the National Weather Service's forecast.
For those not ready to break out their winter boots, good news: the chance of snow showers is relatively slight and unlikely to stick.
"A 20 percent chance of snow showers after 1pm," the National Weather Service's forecast states. "Increasing clouds, with a high near 39."
Even if snow doesn't fall, New Yorkers can still expect a breezy cold day, with wind hitting up to 25 mph, the forecast states.
Snow leaves the forecast Wednesday, but wind chills still will be as low as 20 degrees, according to the forecast.
Temperatures will rise slightly toward as the weekend approaches, meaning rain — not snow — is the likely precipitation Friday.
