A young Missouri paramedic has tragically died suddenly while on duty, according to officials.

Clarke had died unexpectedly while on duty.

First responders found Clarke unresponsive at Station 12 in St. Peters when he failed to respond to a 911 call assignment shortly before 7 a.m.

His partner went to check on him after he didn't show up to the ambulance to leave for the call.

Despite resuscitation efforts by his colleagues, Clarke did not survive.

He was rushed to Barnes St. Peters Hospital where he was confirmed dead.

No cause of death has been made public.

The circumstances surrounding Clarke's death are not yet clear.

In a statement, St. Charles County Ambulance District Chief Kelly Cope said:

"The crews at the base were taking care of him until they transported him to Barnes St. Peters, and that team assisted until they pronounced him."

Clarke had been with the district for two years, joining in November 2022.

He was known for his friendly and positive attitude.

Earlier this year, Clarke and two colleagues received recognition for their lifesaving efforts during a cardiac arrest incident on January 5.

St. Charles County Ambulance District has five qualities they look for in paramedics: accountability, respect, integrity, compassion, and dedication.

Cope says Clarke exceeded in all of those values.

"He was a light in the room anytime you walked in," Cope said.

"he always had a great attitude.

"He was an excellent part of our organization.

"We cannot certainly replace him," he said.

"We'll lean on our own family and try to support his family as best we can.

"It's a loss we can't replace."

The ambulance district is working with Clarke's family to arrange memorial services.

The funeral will be announced at a later date.

The department's Paramedic Association, Honor Guard, and leadership team will support his loved ones as they navigate the loss.

The news comes shortly after the sudden death of another first responder in New York.

As Slay News reported , New York City hero Kaseem "Ka" Ryan has tragically died suddenly, his family has revealed.

The veteran firefighter rose to the rank of FDNY captain while also launching a career as a successful rapper and music producer.

His family revealed that Ka died unexpectedly on Saturday.

No cause of death has been revealed.
