Omaha man arrested in connection with child exploitation case in South Carolina

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A man wanted in connection with an ongoing child exploitation investigation in South Carolina was arrested by Nebraska State Patrol investigators in Omaha this week.

Luis Romero, 36, of Omaha is facing nine charges in South Carolina: three counts of disseminating obscene material to a person under 18 years of age; three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor; and three counts of solicitation of a minor.

According to information released by the NSP on Friday, Romero was arrested Wednesday morning and booked into the Douglas County jail. NSP Tech Crimes Unit investigators made the arrest after they were contacted by the sheriff's office in Anderson County, S.C., who said they believed their suspect was in Omaha.

Homeland Security investigators also assisted in finding and arresting Romero.
