One dead following Winkler Co semi crash
WINKLER COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating after a crash involving a Mustang and Freightliner truck left one dead Tuesday night.
According to a report from DPS, preliminary investigation revealed that at about 10:20 pm on Tuesday, November 5, a 2004 Ford Mustang was travelling westbound on a State Highway 302 entrance ramp near mile marker 221. A 2011 Freightliner with a trailer was also travelling westbound on SH 302 at the crest of the overpass. The driver of the Mustang, 26-year-old Callejas Maldonado Alfredo, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, attempted to make a U-turn with oncoming traffic before being hit by the Freightliner.
Kermit man arrested after two juveniles hospitalized following hit-and-run
Alfredo was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Freightliner was reported uninjured. This crash remain under investigation.
