Owner confronts confused alleged thief trapped inside unlocked Corvette

An alleged would-be car thief was caught behind the wheel of a Corvette. The incident unfolded when the car owner discovered the suspect in the driver's seat.

The alleged incident happened Monday night at a Miami Beach parking garage.

According to video posted by Julio Solano, who claims he's the Corvette owner, alerted Miami Beach police as the suspected thief was inside his car.

No you can't get out, we calling the cops," Solano tells the man who appeared to ask if he could get out of the Corvette. The suspect responds, "for what? What do you mea for what? This is grand theft auto. Are you trying to steal my car," Solano asks. "What are you doing?

According to a police report obtained by NBC6,Ravesh Rabindranauth couldn't get out out of the Corvette because of "an unconventional door mechanism he could not figure out."

Solano's video shows when police arrived inside the parking garage.

"Get out of the car," police shouted atRabindranauth.

Rabindranauth is seen raising his hands in the car as one police officer opens the driver-side doorto the Corvette.

"Be careful he has a bag on the other side," Solano warns the two police officers.

Rabindranauth is then told by police to "get out of the car." The video then showsRabindranauth in handcuffs and escorted by police.

The local media outlet reported that police stated that Rabindranauth told them he was sent there to pick up a Lamborghini Urus SUV, but it was locked.

Rabindranauth then reportedly tried opening the door to a Ford Mustang, but it was also locked.

Solano's Corvette was Rabindranauth's successful attempt because the door was left unlocked.

According to jail records, 33-year-old suspect was charged with burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and given a $2,500 bond.
