PA 168th Legislative Distirct Race Preview: Borowski Vs Buckley State Rep. Lisa Borowski is the first Democrat and woman to hold the seat. Will she keep it as challenger Kathryn Buckley vies for the spot?

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Pennsylvania's 168th Legislative District for decades was controlled by the GOP.

But in 2022, Lisa Borowski, a former Radnor Township Commissioner and member of the Radnor Township School Board, wrested power from the Republicans to become the first Democrat, and first woman, to hold the seat representing Radnor, Newtown, Edgmont, and Middletown townships.

Now, in 2024, she faces another woman in the general election, as Kathryn Buckley aims to regain control for the Republicans.

She touts numerous endorsement, including labor unions, the Sierra Club, climate advocates, gun violence prevention activists, and Planned Parenthood Act.

Borowski was instrumental in equipping Delaware County American Legion and VFW posts with automatic external defibrillators, has worked to address inadequate access to healthcare for Pennsylvanians, and has combatted lawsuits that aim to silence people.

She has also advocated for, and secured, funding for various fire companies and EMS services in the county to ensure first responders have the resources necessary to aid residents in crises.

Buckley is an engineer at Buckley & Company, Inc. in Philadelphia and is venturing into politics to push "policies that spur economic growth, improve education, and ensure public safety," according to the Delaware County GOP.

The Radnor native holds BS degrees from Drexel University in Commerce and Engineering, and Civil Engineering, specializing in Construction and Structural Engineering.

Last year, she was named "The Republican of the Year" by Media GOP.

Her campaign website lists her priorities as ensuring election integrity, supporting local law enforcement, protecting seniors, strengthening schools, and safeguarding taxpayer dollars.
