Crews respond to 3-alarm fire in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Crews responded to a fire that broke out Friday morning at two Providence homes.

Chief Derek Silva posted on X that 67 firefighters responded to Laurel Hill Avenue just after 11 a.m. and found heavy smoke and flames.

Both homes were heavily damaged and Silva said the bulk of the fire has been extinguished.

No injuries were reported but one occupant is being evaluated, Silva said.

The cause remains under investigation.
