April 29, 1939—October 30, 2024

Pastora Gloria Esther Miranda passed from this life to eternal life on October 30, 2024, at home surrounded by love.

She was born on April 29, 1939, the fourth of nine children, to Juan and Cristina Vasquez in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. She moved to New York at the age of 18, first working in factories and cleaning houses; she then trained as a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at Mayfair Nursing Home for 25 years. During this time, she met and married Eugenio Miranda on October 18, 1958. Together, they raised four children in Uniondale, N.Y. In 1995 Gloria and family moved to Wisconsin where her passion of ministry began. She served the United Methodist Church in Lake Geneva, Wis., Delavan, Wis., and Whitewater, Wis. Though she retired from the United Methodist Church, she continued to spread the word of God to all she encountered, serving as a marriage counselor and preaching the word of God and hope to inmates in local jails. Gloria was known for her hearty laugh and a beacon of kindness and love. She was the heart and soul of our family; she will forever reside in our hearts.

She leaves behind children, Hector Miranda, Enid (Brett) Anderson-Miranda, and Gloria Miranda.
