PennDOT Employee Arrested for Alleged Threatening Note

A 53-year-old Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) employee, David Alan Case Jr., is facing multiple charges after allegedly leaving a threatening note on his supervisor's desk. The note, discovered at PennDOT's Riverfront Office Center in Harrisburg on April 30, was directed at multiple employees.

According to Fox43 , one of the employees mentioned in the letter had recently disciplined Case for a clerical error. Another employee who found the letter also confirmed having to discipline Case over errors, but noted that he seemed to take the criticism well.

Case is charged with four counts of terroristic threats, one count of institutional vandalism, four counts of harassment (threatening language), four counts of summary harassment, and one count of criminal mischief.

When questioned by police, Case denied having any issues with his managers or supervisors. However, a detailed handwriting analysis from the Pennsylvania State Police Forensics Lab determined that the handwriting on the letter matched the sample provided by Case.

Following the charges, Case was taken into custody and is currently being held in Dauphin County Prison after failing to post bail of $50,000. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for November 26.
