ALBION, MI – A fire broke out in the second floor of a home Wednesday night and damaged a house in Albion.

Fire crews were called at 9:33 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, to the home in the 400 block of Crandall Street for a report of heavy smoke coming from the second-floor attic area, according to the Albion Department of Public Safety.

Firefighters were able to quell the fire quickly, saving the home, which appears to be repairable though unlivable in its current state, officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but it does not appear to be suspicious at this time.

No injuries were reported.

The Sheridan and Albion township fire departments and Albion Community Ambulance assisted at the scene.
