KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The case against a Kearney woman accused of killing her husband is going to trial court. Karen Geisler, 56, is charged with second-degree murder as well as use of a firearm to commit a felony. Kearney Police said Jimmy Geisler, 62, was shot and wounded Oct. 20 at a home in the 1800 block of Seventh Avenue. He later died in the hospital. Further details of the shooting are unknown as Buffalo County Judge Gerald Jorgenson sealed records at the request of the Buffalo County Attorney. After an evidence hearing Thursday, Jorgenson ruled that there was probable cause against Geisler and transferred the case to Buffalo County District Court for possible trial. A hearing date for Geisler is pending. She's being held in the Buffalo County Jail on $1 million bond.
