Perryton's Assistant Fire Chief was critically injured while fighting a fire. Two others were injured.

The fire started around 10:45 p.m. Thursday on NW 2nd Ave.

According to the City of Perryton, a fire hose "being charged with water whipped" and injured Assistant Fire Chief Scott Glass, and volunteer firefighters Thomas Beal and Jacob Anderson.

Glass sustained serious head injuries. He was airlifted to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo. He is listed in "very critical condition."

A good friend of Glass' wife said he is in need of a miracle.

The Booker Fire Department also asked for prayers.

Beal suffered a broken arm and other fractures. He was also taken to NWTH.

Anderson was treated at Ochiltree General Hospital for minor injuries.

Canadian, Follett, and Beaver counties sent equipment and personnel to assist with the final firefighting.
