SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — It's been a dramatic weekend on the coast as king tides rolled along the San Diego County shoreline, bringing waves up to 7 feet high.

Sunday marked the last day for the three-day event, which evolved as the Beaver Moon, the fourth and final supermoon of the year , aligned with the sun and Earth. This celestial sequence caused an increase in gravitational pull, in turn, fueling the king tides that are awed by many.

From North County to the South Bay, beachgoers in the region captured the slamming waves as they erupted along the coast. Here's a compilation of captures from local residents:

The next king tides event, also the last occurrence of the year, is expected to return Dec. 13 through 15.
