Pickup Truck Fished From Merrimack River In Concord: Watch Concord firefighters and New Hampshire State Police were sent to the NHTI boat launch Friday after a truck rolled backward into the river.

CONCORD, NH — Concord fire and rescue teams and New Hampshire State Police were sent to a boat launch for a vehicle in the river call on Friday .

Capital region fire dispatch received the report around 10:15 a.m. and sent water rescue teams to the NHTI boat ramp on College Avenue. A state trooper also responded to the call. Dispatch reported a few minutes later to firefighters heading to the scene that no one was inside the vehicle.

When firefighters arrived, they found a Ford F-150 pickup truck submerged in the river with a boat trailer attached. The fire commander requested a wrecker be sent to the scene.

Around 10:30 p.m., the commander said the truck had rolled about 50 feet into the river, and firefighters were working to secure it so it could be pulled out. A state trooper requested a tow truck, they said, and they were en route.

Firefighters in water rescue gear secured the truck, which the wrecker pulled to shore. The firefighters detached the boat trailer, and the wrecker pulled the truck out of the river and onto the flatbed.

No one was injured during the incident and it is unknown at post time exactly how the truck rolled into the river.

Firefighters began clearing the scene around 11:30 a.m.
