Piedmont Triad to see warmer weather over weekend

A.Davis30 min ago

(WGHP) — Sunny skies turn to clear skies into the evening hours in the Piedmont Triad. Temperatures fall into the low-50s by 8 p.m.

Clear skies and light winds overnight will bring the potential for patchy frost mainly in more rural areas as temperatures fall into the mid-30s in some spots. Urban areas will likely not see frost as temperatures are expected to be in the upper 30s or even low 40s. Either way, a quick scrape of the windshield should be just fine as you're heading to work.

Afternoon temperatures will reach the mid-60s with sunshine. Temperatures continue to gradually warm into the weekend returning to seasonable temperatures thanks to a high pressure system sitting over the eastern United States.

On Saturday morning and Sunday morning, temperatures will be in the low to mid-40s with afternoon temperatures near-seasonable. Saturday's high will reach the upper-60s. By Sunday, we're even warmer with highs in the low 70s.

Sunshine and dry weather continue to dominate into the start of next week. Monday morning starts off in the mid-40s with highs in the mid-70s. Both Tuesday and Wednesday will be similar with mornings in the upper 40s and afternoons in the mid-70s.

By Thursday, our morning temperatures return to the mid-50s and the afternoon temperatures continue to reach the mid-70s. Our next cold front also arrives Thursday, and we'll keep an eye on how much that will affect our weather as we get closer.
